Question abou uploads

• Apr 22, 2021 - 08:24

I am busy making a presentation and have been using Musescores ability to generate video files from uploaded scores.

However...found an issue I can't see a way around.

I made a ver simple 4 bat score and uploaded it. To show the effects of adding extra notes I used "save as" to create an entirely new Musescore file, and then edited it.

However, when I upload these two very simple scores, web site continues to recognise them as versions of the same file. Rather than creating a new score on the website, the original score is replaced, even though it has a different filename.

I do see that there is a work around - create both scores from scratch. However, my plan for the presentation was based upon the idea that I would be able to create a series of scores, each showing progressive modifications, and that I would then be able to produce video files of each.

Any ideas - left this too late as ever!

Cheers

Stuart

Just before you "Save As" your score (or right after) go into File > Score Properties and remove the contents of the "source url" field (or something named along those lines).
This field is used (and saved inside the score) to enable updating the same online score afterwards. As you want the exact opposite to happen, clear out the field will make the upload process consider it as a "new" score.

Thank you very much!

I must say....I have never used a programme that has such superb support as Musescore. It is a fantastic programme....I have used it to produce an entire composition project, just over 30 mins of music. A bit stressed at present as this must be handed in tomorrow and I have to give a presentation on it this afternoon. I have not left enough time as ever ... so I am especially grateful for your help!
