SURPLUS BARS
I anticipated the piece I am working on to be much longer so I set up maybe 40 bars too many.
CUT and DELETE don't seem to be doing it for me.
I am sure it is easy but I can't find out what to do to remove those extra bars.
Can Anyone please advise me ?
Sam

Did you mean Ctrl when you wrote Cut? The command to remove a selected range is Ctrl+Delete. Ther Cut Delete commands merely remove the contents of measures.
Every once in a while, especially on macOS, it seems the command to remove select range disables itself, so far no one has found steps to reproduce this. But so far it always seems to fix itself if you close then reopen MuseScore. But also, the "remove empty trailing measures" command mentioned above can also serve as a partial workaround, for the specific cases where the bars you want to remove are at the end of the score and, of course, are actually empty.

Dear Marc,
I am grateful to you.
I did, as it happens, word my question badly
The key word was ' remove '
I have now been able to shorten the piece to the size I want.
With many grateful thanks to you
Salut
Sam
