Musescore won't open anymore
Hi, I've used Musescore for a while and it has always run fine on my old laptop. I didn't open it for some time (I think at least two or three months), and when I tried to launch it some day ago to re-write a piece that I need it just won't open. I tried uninstalling and installing it back, launching as admin, trying compatibilty mode but I just doesn't work. What could have happened?

Hard to say without more information. What OS? How are you trying to open it? What specifically goes wrong when you try? What happens if you reboot and try again?

Windows 10 I suppose, and it could be due to recently installed MS updates.

I'm on Windows 10 with the latest updates installed. I'm trying to open it by double clicking on the exe, by right clicking and running it as admin, by running it in compatibilty mode, but it just doesn't open. I can't tell what goes wrong because it doesn't even show in the task manager's processes page and no error shows up. I've tried everything, rebooting, uninstalling, it's always the same result.

Do you have a default printer that is networked and currently not reachable? That might be another cause.

Hi,
I've been having the same problem with Musescore not opening, crashing everytime. Also like others, tried everything to get it to work. However, I also have a somewhat outdated Samsung wifi printer that has given me many headaches (works sometimes, or not).
After reading your post about the default printer I removed the device from my network, and instantly Musescore worked again. I would never have put the two together as a conflict! I had been going through this problem several times a year, eventually resolving it somehow, but never sure why.
NOW I know.
Thank you so, so much!
