Create new score using the normal wizard. MIDI is disabled until a new score
Using the toolbar click the MIDI DIN Plug icon.
Musescore crashes.
Alternatively, Select Edit >> Preferences >> I/O tab
Click button: Restart Audio and MIDI Devices
Fault happens with JACK, or ALSA under Port Audio.

This happens to me as well. Crashes hard too, I have to restart computer. I'm using a Casio CDP-130
This issue tracker here has been discontinued so better report it on GitHub
I am having this issue with 4.1.1 too now.
Using a Komplete Kontrol S88. Drivers all up to date, reinstalled Musescore 4. Only way to remove the app is a total restart as Task Manager can't even close it.
