How to add chord comping rhythms above staff and have chord playback?
My measure of the leadsheet has a whole note, but I want the chords to play with a specific comping rhythm. How do I do this, and am I able to have the chord play back in the rhythm I want to hear?

Add more chord symbols. Those are not restricted to notes/rests, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/chord-symbols#commands
To add the comping rhythm above the staff, write therhythm in voice 3, then use Tools / Toggle Rhythmic Slash Notation (see Handbook under Tools for more info). Then simply add the chord to each such note, and the repeated chords invisible by pressing "V".
