Rehearsal of Choir Part

• May 20, 2021 - 23:39

I wanted to experiment with Musescore to see if it could be used to extract a voice from standard hymn pdf's so, since I'm not a great music reader, I could extract for practice the tenor voice on songs. Downloaded a hymn to the program from the Musescore collection. I can't for the life of me figure out how to, or even if it's possible to do this with the closed format of the score--two staves, SA on the top, TB on the bottom, both designated as Voice in the parts section of Musescore. Is mine a mission impossible for this software?
Thanks for any help,
Mike

If you use any of the Clodes Score SATB templates, os use the "Womenm" and "Men" 'instruments', you can use the S/A and /T/B texts from the text palette and apply them to the first note of the corresponding staff. Then in Mixer you can set Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass individually, mute or solo them or change their volume and pan. In Mixer click on the arrow if the Women/Men 'instrument' to see those separate channels.

Else you can still use the Mixer and mute voices
