Why does the New Score Wizard always open when I pause
On a few occasions, when I edit something in the mixer while it is playing and I click spacebar to pause instead of pausing, it opens the New Score Wizard. And now when I leave it playing while going to a different application, and I pause it, the New Score Wizard Opens too.

Perhaps you are accidentally using the shortcut command Ctrl + N?
Or did you perhaps change the New Score shortcut command with Edit > Preferences... > Shortcuts, and that shortcut is used by other applications?
Clicking elements in the Mixer moves the keyboard focus there, a known issue. So you can't use space to control playback after clicking a mixer control, you need to click in the score first to return focus there. This doesn't directly explain how the new score wizard is inserting itself into the proceedings, but chances are this is somehow related.
