Overlap of voices when using cross-staffing

when using two voices of different durations, MuseScore normally performs fine. However, with the addition of cross-staffing, there is a disregard for the "home" measure's voicing regarding automatic placement:

The second measure there has a whole note in the same position as the eighth notes, which should look like the first measure, but because of the cross staffing of the notes the follow, the problem arises for some reason.
