unpredictable crashes

This is which version & where using Musescore [on macbook pro 13" 2020 11.5.2 ] OS: macOS 10.16, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.6.2.548020600, revision: 3224f34

For a while now I get crashes when using musescore; it just quits, I have to reopen it & I lose any unsaved work. Often it seems related to a particular operation, eg; cut & paste as I've had occasions when Ive reopened then its crashed again at the exact same point.

this seemed to start happeneing after one of the updates, but I went back to using an older version & it still kept happeneing.

Any help please, very frustrating, especially when trying to meet a deadline.

Regardless of the cause of the crash, do note you shouldn't lose much unsaved work, as MuseScore autosave every two minute by default (and you can change the time interval in (Edit / Preferences / General). Just be sure to agree when MuseScore offers to restore your previous session on next startup. And I recommend then doing an explicit save as back to the original file to make sure your subsequent work gets saved there and isn't restricted to that auosave copy. In theory that happens automatically, but it can be thrown if if, for example, there is a second crash before you have a chance to save.
