linked staff and tab for bass?

I'm running the latest version of Musescore on Win10. I've used Musescore for quite a while but mostly for guitar and piano. I want to have a bass clef with tab for bass guitar. I can make the bass clef and I can add the tab for bass guitar and I think I linked the two. At least the checkmark on the bass tab shows it linked. But input of notes on the bass clef does not result in a note in the tab. What am I doing wrong or not doing? Does the bass clef staff need to show a checkmark under linked as well as the bass tab?
The other problem I've seen is that it plays the wrong note when I place a note on B on the bass clef. This is only in one measure because in two or three measures later, it plays the correct note.

Since writing the above, I figured out my problem with the linked bass clef and bass tab. Got that working. So my only question now is what might be wrong when it plays the wrong note.

It's pretty much impossible to diagnose without seeing what you have actually done. Please attach the score (.mscz file).

ah well, too late for this time. I got frustrated with that file and started over. Things are working properly so far. If it happens again, I'll be sure to include the file. For now we can end this thread.
