Personal Priorities
My hard drive crashed. My ancient laptop is toast.
I am configuring a brand new laptop. Barebones Windows -- no games, no trial software. Awesome.

My next installation will be a Word Processor.
And after that a printer driver.
I've got my priorities straight :-)

And don't forget, if it really was your hard drive that quit, There are ways to get stuff off of it. Your data is still there. It's usually the part that interacts with the OS that fails.
