Instrument sounds

Is there a way to improve the quality of the electronic sounds of the instruments by installing something like Note Performer into MuseScore? I did this with Sibelius. The strings are especially harsh in my opinion and that makes it hard to appreciate the needed blends with other instruments and voices.

Hi Michael! See the Announcements forum for news about the new "MuseSampler" (tentative name) being developed for MuseScore 4. I have no special info on how it will compare to NotePerformer, but supposedly it's intended to be roughly similar in terms of the impact it can have. Also the ability to use VST instruments directly is coming.

Meanwhile, you can certainly install alternative soundfonts into MuseScore, or use it to drive VST instruments within DAW connected via JACK. So lots of ways of improving the sounds somewhat already, if not the fancy AI stuff NotePerformer apparently does.
