Apologies, I don't know what regression means in this context. I have no work around.
I don't know how to reproduce this issue - I'm not exaggerating when I say that I literally left my computer for 5 minutes and returned to the playback function no longer working. This has been happening to me for well over a year. Reverting to factory settings, changing I/O, restarting drivers no longer seems to help the issue
