I only downloaded this app a week ago - but my score properties panel says
3.3.4
When I get replies to my pleas for help --- they always point to the NEWEST version. saying how everything is better now. and what is NEW - 3.6
I tried re-downloading it several times - but nothing changes.

3.3.4 is the latest version from the Windows store and very outdated. Just uninstall it.
Indeed, don't use the Microsoft store. Remove that version and install the official version from this site (see Download menu above). First make sure, though, that, you aren't in one of the special "crippled" versions of Windows that requires you to only use the store. if so, turn that "feature" off.
