A few notes changed color "out of the blue"
Today I opened a piece of music that I am currently practicing to play along with Musescore. I noticed several notes that are a different color. I don't know enough about MS to change note colors so I am sure that I did not do it and no one else uses the computer. Can anyone please offer a explanation/solution?

See Coloring of notes outside an instrument's range in the handbook.

I noticed in the pop up window for changing instruments on a score that there is a prompt that shows the range for professionals and amateurs. Is it possible to tell MS which range to use?

Yes, in that very dialog

Thank you. I saw the two fields, but I must have been clicking incorrectly. I will look at it again.

MuseScore always looks at both. Notes outside the amateur range but still within the professional range are colored a dark yellow. Notes outside the professional range are colored red. These colors are for your own information and guidance only, they don't print or export to PDF.
