MuseScore won't play through USB headset

I only have the USB headsets, no other options besides the external speakers. The device does not show up under Preference/I/O. Even if I manually set it to the USB headset in System Prefs, MuseScore continues to play through the speakers. (It also does not seem to be responding to volume controls). The headset works fine in every other app.

Any ideas?
