Musescore replaces whole note with Chinese character in modulated tempo marking
This issue has been going on for some time now, where I will need to say for example the half is equal to the dotted whole, but the whole note is represented incorrectly. This is also the case for some of the shorter notes like the 128th. The normal note input is fine, and I have updated to the latest version. Reloading does not help. I should mention it does read the value correctly it just is represented with a Chinese character for some reason.

Looks better (but not really good either) here:

The score does have a history, it does stem from some pre 3.6 version, Not sure whether that plays a role here.
It does use the Emmentaler font for Musical Symboles and Musical Text, that does incluse these metric modulations as far as I can tell

If I were to make a new score and just copy paste everything would that 'bring it up' to the latest version?

Not sure. But try the atttached, I did reset everything to default (and decreased the spacing to near where it was)

It seems to work, what do you think the issue was if I experience it in the future?

Dunno, as I didn't see it to begin with
