Musescore instrument layout
Hello, I was wondering how you would get a a result like this
I am a little confused on how you get two of the same instruments like oboe into one staff rather than having two separate staffs
Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

To have two parts on one staff, use voices.

Two change the name of the staff, double click on the name of the instrument on the left of the score. Change the long name to the one you want.
Lets say you set up a score with "Oboe". With the score open, do the above to change it to "Oboe 1, 2".

So then I would assume on the oboe part, the two half notes that are together are two separate voices
