Adding a dot to quarter note hides eight note after it with standard bass tab

If you modify the Dm7 on measure 24 it causes the G7 note to disappear (the chord letter above stays)

That vanishing G is an 8th note, so it does get 'eaten' when you make the preceeding quiternote a dotted quarter. This is by design.
Woraround: Turn the existing G into a quarter first. before making the preceeding D longer
