Copy & paste the melody notes without also copying the lyrics
I am new to Musescore & music. Let's say I have a score of 12 measures with lyrics in each measure. I want to add an instrument. I would copy all the melody notes into the new instrument and listen to the result. However, all the lyrics would also copy the melody notes. When I click on the beginning measure, all the notes, and lyrics turn blue. Is there a way to copy the melody notes without the lyrics?

I don't know where is the selection filter. But I was able to select the lyrics of the new instrument using "Select similar elements in the same staff" to delete the unwanted lyrics.

I actually printed and laminated the shortcuts list for reference. I tried to find "Selection Filter" on the list, but it is not under Selection nor Filter. I finally find F6, after I read your reply, which was under Toggle "filter selection". I would never have looked at Toggle to find filter selection. Thanks.

That's a problem with alphabetically-sorted lists. You might instead try this version I created, where everything is neatly organized by category:

For the record, though - the way you did is probably just as easy for this particular task; good job figuring that out!
