Triangle sound in drumset

• Jun 10, 2022 - 12:19

Hi!

I've tried to solv this issue with help of old posts but couldn't.

I want for an English brassband have a drumset part. That's easy to create. But when I scroll through the sounds using up/down keys I never hear a triangle sound. I want a triangle sound.
Neither in the edit drumset view as I just discovered. (I think the button is called that. I'm using a Swedish translated Musescore version)

I can add a single triangle part that sounds like a triangle. So the sound is there some where. But how to implement that in a drumset part.

Sorry if the answer is in the forum somewhere. I couldn't find it. :)

To customize your drumset definition, use Edit Drumset; see the Handbook section on drum notation for more information on customization. Assuming you are using the default soundfont, or something else that is compatible with the General MIDI standard, triangle is at MIDI pitches 80 & 81 (muted & open).

Thank you!
I'll try this next time I use Musescore.
Is there easy to change from a sound to another on the same line on the staff? Letting the musician understand with a text note what instrument to use?
So first time it means triangle and later cymbal for instance...
Do you understand what I mean?

Yes, and you can also assign different noteheads for this purpose, so a triangle-shaped notehead means triangle, an “x” means cymbal, etc. It’s all there in the Edit Drumset dialog, and all described on the Handbook page I mentioned. If you’ve never accessed the Handbook before, you can get there right from the Help menu within MuseScore.
