When 1st and 2nd volta are the same in some parts...
I'm in the process of creating legible copies of some very old marches for our brass band. (To give a rough estimate of their age: the set of march cards that they are on include "God save the king.")
A lot of these marches have voltas for just a handful of the parts (the other parts playing exactly the same on the first and second repeats).
In the full score I need to show the voltas, but is it possible to generate the parts such that they do NOT show the voltas when they play the same on both repeats? At the moment, I'm creating the full score, then a simplified version for those parts that don't have voltas... it works, but I feel like it should be easier to do.

No, you either have Voltas in score and parts or don't.

But you can fake it (though I don't advise this as it could create confusion about the "missing measure" when using measure numbers to refer to a location in the score).

I definitely recommend against this. As a director, if I say "let's start two bars before the first ending", I don't want half the band going, "huh? I don't have a first ending". It's pretty important for parts to match. That's the sort of thing you get to improve now.
