Tried MuseScore 4 which looks marvellous. But I still miss the beam-over-staves / beam-over-page-breaks features, which are essential to music notation.

Are those features on the roadmap to v4 final?

If you mean the ability to have a beam across a barline that is also across a system break, that's a known long-standing limitation. Hoepfully a way is found to solve it someday, but I'm not aware of any specific plans for 4.0.

Sad to hear that this seems not be of concern for the developer team. Is there not even a chance to fake it? I mean to remember that Finale has an option to manually prolong beams to their left and right. Even something like this would be a tremendous help.
