How to set an instrument to play back only on repeat

I'm entering a tune that has a repeat in it and a part that is only to be played the second time through. It looks fine and prints fine, but is there a way to make it so that when MuseScore plays it, the one part (instrument) will only play back the second time through? or would I have to take out the repeat and double the measures, one without the part and one with?
