Transferring a classical score (tablature) to Muscore

• Oct 7, 2022 - 20:27

Muscore community and dev's,

I am not particularly skilled at operating this program. My objective is to painlessly transfer an arrangement of J.S. Bach into Muscore, so that I might arrange my own interpretation. Any advice or shortcuts would be helpful. Please note that I did notice that there are various how-to's and tutorial guides in the drop down menu; my hope is to simplify the process somehow.

Thank you

  1. Your pdf image shows that the source is a Guitar Pro file. This GP file (.gpx, or .gp6, or .gp5 etc.) should be available somewhere? And since MuseScore opens Guitar Pro files...
  2. This prelude is already available on musescore.com (Public Domain). So, you can download it with a basic/free account: https://musescore.com/user/135176/sets/5219324
  3. Of course, it will benefit you in the long run to learn how to use MuseScore. This prelude (only 2 voices) can be a good example of a score to get the hang of.
