Hi, I am totally new to MuseScore and cannot see a way to playback only one instrument on a score.
Is this possible?
Thanks

Not you cannot "save" a MIDI in MsueScore - you can only "export" it, which loses the vast majority of the work you might be doing in MuseScore. So if you are hitting "save" as you normally should, the result isn’t a MIDI - it's an actual MuseScore file. Be sure to open that, not the original MIDI, to continue working on it. If you some reason you need to create a new MIDI file (and thus throw away much of the work done in MuseScore, because MIDI doesn't support most music notation features), then by all means, you can do that as well, via File / Export.

I know it is written somewhere :-( but can someone please tell me the easy way to move misplaced notes. I tried using up and down arrows, but that makes sharps or flats.
Thank you for your patience with a noob less than 24 hrs in.

What do you mean by "misplaced", then? If you mean, the wrong pitch, then up/down is the right answer - just keep pressing until you reach the correct pitch. If you mean, you entered one or more notes on the wrong beat or measure, or the wrong staff, just select the notes you want to move, then cut & paste (Ctrl+X/Ctrl+V) to the correct location.

Page up and down are like scroll bars for the whole page; they don't change the notes themselves. It's not clear what you mean about above or beyond where you want, nor is it clear why you entered them somewhere other than where you wanted them to begin with. In order for us to be able to understand and assist well, it would help if you attached your actual score and then explained what in particular do - which specific notes are above or below" where you wanted them, how they got there, where you want them instead, etc.

Thanks all for your help :-)
Now another question and please forgive me if I get the terminology wrong.
If I auto link two notes with the auto legato button, the two notes are the same. How do I link two different notes?

If by "auto legato", you mean "tie", that is one thing. Connect two notes of different pitches is done with a "slur". Select the first note and hit "S". You can select a range of notes and slur them all together. There is no real playback effect for this. Not automatically,at least. It's more for real players
