MS4 handbook: windows
I'm drafting the "Toolbars and Windows" page. In the scaffold for the page there are headings "Docking and Undocking windows". Does this refer to Musecore opening a new instance for every new score (which may not have been the case when you wrote the scaffold)? In which case window handling is OS dependent. Any ideas for correcting/improving the following?
Windows #
Unlike previous versions of Musescore, in Musescore 4 each new score opens a new instance of the program. That means each score has its own user interface, including playback controls (all instances can playback at the same time!).
*Docking and undocking windows
The arrangement of windows is done in the usual way for the operating system being used (Windows, Mac, Linux etc.)
*Customizing contents of windows
Changing the appearance of Musescore in one window will automatically change the appearance of all open scores.

Docking and Undocking pertains to the floatable windows within MuseScore, such as the palettes and properties tabs.

Got it thanks. Forgot all about em!
To dock/undock a window, see the "..." menu at the top right, but also, dragging. Some trial and error might be needed to discover all the possibilities, since they have changed since MuseScore 3. But generally, these can be made free-floating windows or separate panels within the sidebar or tabbed. The dragging behavior seems pretty buggy to me on Linux at least, but hopefully it's better on Windows and/or macOS.

Thanks I didn't see the dots, and they give different options for different panels. Seems to work ok on Windows. The play panel half disappeared once after a lot of mucking about with it - I had to restart and haven't been able to reproduce the problem.
I found this topic a bit confusing so I reordered the headings a bit. The original scaffold is commented out at the top of the page. Would be good if someone reviewed it with fresh eyes.

This looks basically good. The one thing I notice that's a bit off is that you have a separate heading for customizing the note input toolbar, but not the play toolbar. I think probably neither deserves a full heading, or maybe both. I'd only do both if you were to go into more detail. But then also, I'd find a way to arrange things so you have only a single sub-heading at that level - this always seems awkward to me.

Yeah I know what you mean. I'll just delete that subheading and move on for now.
