when i use the playback feature it only plays white noise. This happens to any other audio i try to play on my computer from then on, spotify etc., and it occurs on my headphones and from my computer speakers. I can temporarily reset it by going windows->computer management->restart windows audio endpoint builder, but the problem returns as soon as I try to use the playback feature again.
I tried looking at forums but all I could really find was about the temporary solution.

That way you can reach a larger group of users with much experience in system administration, audio hardware & software, etc. The issue tracker is meant for reporting confirmed and reproducible bugs in the software itself.
When you do ask on the forum, be sure to include as many details about your system (operating system, audio hardware and drivers, other audio programs, etc) as you can.
