Central C-clef in a dual-staff system (for piano)

• Nov 6, 2022 - 16:21

Hi, I have a normal dual-staff system for the piano, with treble-clef on top-staff and bass-clef on bottom-staff.
I simply want to replace the two clefs with a single C-clef in the middle of the system (and I'd need that central C note is placed in the middle too, accordingly to the C-clef).
Is it possible?

Thanks in advance.

Ah, reading Marc's response I realize I did not understand the question properly. I now understand you still want to keep the two staffs, but you wan just one C-clef "in the middle". That is more tricky. Might not be possible.

(in my responses above, I thought you wanted to replace your two-staff piano, with a one-staff instrument that used an alto clef.)

MuseScore isn't really designed to handle experimental notation like this, not right out of the box anyhow. But, you can use a "staff text change" from the Text palette to define an offset for the staff lines, and you can place the clef from the Symbols palette (press "Z" to display) while suppressing the normal clefs via Staff/Part Properties. And similarly use other more general built-in features to get this very specific unorthodox result.
