Cannot select notes for copying
I am a newbie to musescore 3 - but not to computers.
I want to copy a line of notes from my score and copy to another location in the score. I cannot succeed in selecting the notes to copy.
I am doing as follows.
1. Press esc to make sure that I am in normal mode.
2. Click the first note to copy. The note turns blue, showing that it is selected.
3. Press and hold Shift, and click the last note to copy
Expected result: All the selected notes turn blue, showing that they are selected.
Actual results: No change. Nothing is selected. If I now press Ctrl+C, and then Ctrl+V in the destination location, nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong?

Try "Shift+right arrow" for step 3.
If you're not seeing the blue rectangle, then your Shift+click didn't register.
Be sure all relevant boxes are checked in the 'Selection Filter'.

SHift+right should work to extend a selection one note at a time indeed, but what you are doing should work too. Be sure to click within the notehead, not just in the general vicinity of the note. Also check to be sure you didn't disable selection of the voice you are selecting in the Selection Filter as mentioned.
If you continue to have trouble, please attach your score and tell us which specific notes you are clicking. Could be something particular to those notes in that score is getting in the way.
