Adding multiple slurs at once in MS 4
Just began trying MuseScore 4. Looks great! However, I'm still adjusting to changed hotkeys and new tool behaviors:
In MS 3, if I selected more than 2 notes and added a slur, each selected note would get a slur that connected with its following note. In MS 4, selecting more than 2 notes still only creates 1 slur, between the first and last selected note, ignoring the notes in between.
Is there a new method for generating many two-note slurs? Even with the default hotkey, it's rather tedious to have to press a key after selecting each note, vs. selecting many notes and pressing the key once.
I found the old behavior intuitive and useful, since it included the MS 4 functionality when only 2 notes were selected.

Not so for me in 3.6.2 and I don't recall it ever working that way. If I select multiple notes and give a slur command the slur goes from the first to the last note in the selection. Only 1 slur is added if I use a list selection. If I use a range selection (blue rectangle) 1 slur is added on each staff.
Now if you are talking about ties instead, then MS4 seems to work out just the same as MS3 did and indeed adds a tie to each note in the selection for me. Just make sure to use the Tie command and not the Slur command.

I just double-checked that I am able to add slurs as described, and I most certainly can. Definitely slurs; I am not confusing them with ties. (Version 3.6.2.548021803, revision: 3224f34 )
The behavior you describe is how MS 3 functions for me when selecting two notes — one slur is created between the two. However, when I select three or more notes, I get one slur per note selected.
I should clarify: In MS 3, I am able to add multiple slurs by selecting three or more notes and then clicking the slur button in the 'lines' palette. Since I was accustomed to doing that, I never learned the hotkey for adding slurs. It may be that the hotkey functions as you describe.
In MS 4, I defaulted to using the hotkey because I couldn't find a 'lines' palette, and noticed that slurs had been added to the note-entry panel, which gave me the hotkey when I hovered over it. I just now searched for slurs in the palettes and found that they have been moved to 'articulations.' When I select three or more notes and click the slur button in the articulations palette, all notes become deselected and no slurs are added.
EDIT: I just looked up the hotkey for adding slurs in MS 3 — it functions as you describe, creating only one slur when 3 or more notes are selected. Baffling! I guess this was a very niche feature, only working with the palette-slur button. Nonetheless, I would like to see the feature return. (And perhaps it should be added to the hotkey, as well)

I indeed never used the palettes for adding slurs.
In that respect, palette items in MS3 where not really aware of what they were and a click in the palette indeed just tried to applied the palette element to every selected element. While this makes sense for things like articulations, it was unlikely the intended effect when clicking a dynamic or a hairpin.
The palettes in MS4 are more aware of which element is being applied and tries to use the most common anticipated behavior for it.
