MuseScore 4 fails to start up
When I try to start MuseScore 4, I get a pop-up saying 'MuseScore4.exe - Entry Point Not Found - The procedure entry point MFPutWaitingWorkItem could not be located in the dynamic link library MFPlat.DLL.
I'm on Windows 7.

Thanks!!!! I am not alone!! :D
Maybe there is an easy solution for it
same problem here
Same. Windows 7.
Same problem here, could simply be that win 7 is no more supported
Windows 7 is no longer supported, not by MuseScore and not by Microsoft.

I think the installation page is a bit misleading; Musescore 4+ should say "Window10+" not "all platforms".

Or 'all supported platforms'.
At the top it is made clear that Win 10+ is needed

Yes, thanks I red the bad news. I'm just waiting for somebody's smart solution.

Updating to Windows 10 or 11 is the only solution. And smart on top 😉

Another is to simply keep using MuseScore3.
If Reaper today still works on WindowsXP, how hard can it be to support Win7?
(Also in my experience programs that support older versions of Windows are leaner and faster, so this is not very appealing).

MuseScore did support WindowsXP, in version 1 and probably 2

Any way to update MFPlat.DLL to a newer version w/o updating the entire OS?

Pretty unlikely
Same here, but I use Win 10!
No matter if I start directly or via MuseHub.
The start screen shows up for short, then disappears and nothing happens.
In task manager it says "process stopped"
