Different Dynamics for Treble & Bass Clefs for MuseScore 4

• Dec 17, 2022 - 00:19

In MuseScore 3, you could edit what dynamics could affect. You could change and make dynamics affect a whole system, a whole part, are a singular staff. This was useful if I wanted the Treble and Base Clefs of a Piano part to be two different dynamics simultaneously. However, I for the life of me cannot figure out how to do this in MuseScore 4 since the inspector is now the properties. The option to set dynamics to staff only is not there in the properties tab.

I had the same problem and found no help in documentation or online. I am going back to V3 until dynamics are supported. I need dynamics for both staff and system. I would like dynamics for voices within a staff to bring out active voices without splitting into more systems.

Not only that, for files from MuseScore 3 that had different dynamics assigned to different staffs, if fails to play them properly. This seems more problematic than just a missing option on the properties.

For piano repertoire it's hugely problematic because if the composer, for example, indicated mf it rarely means that both hands should play it the same way.

I had the same problem. Moreover, I searched for the option of changing the level within the individual dynamic (finetuning), but apparently this it not possible either (yet).
