Fermata problem in MuseScore 4
S3 - Major
1) In a piano score, put notes of different durations on the upper and lower staff. For example, the top staff has a half note and two quarter notes, and the bottom staff has a whole note.
2)Place a fermata over a note of shorter duration.
The fermata does not play correctly, in subsequent measures the upper and lower staff are not synchronized.

Where can we find this particular setting?
This problem has existed for as far back as at least MS3. MuseScore processes fermatas in the same way as notes, so the whole rest fermata will be held on b1, then the other fermata will be held when it occurs. Change every fermata to 100% length until the point you actually want the length to occur. Attached is an example. The way Muse Sounds processes this makes the oboe hang out on its own, so I would use Muse Basic or a VST if this is an issue for you.
I have an issue with fermatas where, rather than holding the notes and making a given measure simply last longer. The notes are held but into the next bar, this is causing some funny issues.. For now I'll add invisible pauses too though if there is a more elequent solution that'd be great.

I am experiencing the same issue but even setting the piano to use Muse Basic doesn't fix the issue.
I am not even seeing the availability of adding a fermata in Musescore 4. It is not visible in the Articulations palette (including More option). Has it moved to a new / different palette? Please advise.

The fermata is in the Breaths and Pauses palette
