How to get all these bars on the same system?
I know about the 'keep bars on the same system' option in the layout pallete, but when I select all these bars to do this, it stretches the first bar to the length of the whole first system, and puts all the other bars on the second system. Surely there's enough space in the first system to fit these 8 bars?

Reduce stretch, scaling or page borders or increase page width
There isn't within your current style and stretch setting, or they would be showing there already by default...
There isn't given your current values for spacing ratio and minimum note distance - a double dotted half note is required to take a significantly larger amount of space than an eighth - an amount calculated by those settings. You can either reduce one of those settings, or attempt to use "{" to reduce "stretch"
