MuseScore 4 keeps crashing
Every time I open MuseScore 4, it crashes instantly. I already restarted my computer. What should I do now?

Hub or standalone?
Operating system?
I am also now getting the complete crash of the MS4 program at the opening splash screen. I have to go into Task Manager and stop the process. I installed Musescore 4 and had initial success in importing a MS3 file and have been working with relative ease and only occasional random crashing for the last couple of days. Nothing crippling, but just a little frustration. However, after the most recent crash, the program refuses to load beyond the initial splash screen. I have rebooted and reinstalled/repaired the program with not progress.
I am running on a new laptop with Windows 11. 12th gen processor i7 with 16 GB RAM. I also use the laptop with an external monitor, although I don't think this has anything to do with the crashing.

Okay, so try using menu item: Help > Revert to factory settings.

Can't do it. Can't even get into Musescore to do anything. Just freezes upon opening. Then I have to use Task Manager to close the program.

I have tried repairing, uninstalling and reinstalling, as well as installing version withou the Hub. I am stuck. All I get when I click on the program icon is the initial splash screen, and then it freezes.

Sorry, I forgot you can't open Help because MuseScore 4 won't load at all without crashing.
Try running factory restore (-F) from the command line:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/revert-factory-settings#Via_command…
Follow those instructions, just substitute MuseScore4 for MuseScore3.
If -F (factory settings) doesn't work. try -w in case the Start Center is at fault.
See:

Thanks!
I was able to reset and reopen the program. I am still not sure about the freezing action, but will continue to monitor. At least I have made progress.

After having some relative stability for a while, I just had another total freeze where I had to go back through this Factory reset routine. I am not sure what precipitated it, other than I had just updated to the latest version of Musescore 4, so....
I am not sure whether some of this might have to do with using an extended monitor setup with a laptop. I have had some freezes when just using the laptop screen, but the total freeze and reset has happened only when using the extended monitor setup.
Facts, bro. I'm trying to publish this one score, and it just won't export the audio even 12% with MuseSounds and crashes every time. It's very disappointing.
The only fortunate thing is that it is only that score, hopefully.
MuseScore 4 just crashed for the second time today, I'm also noticing some severe lag and stutters when clicking on various elements within the score, i.e. notes, palettes, etc. MuseScore 3 never had this problem, it just seems to be poorly optimized and working way too hard in the background. The score that I was working on had two parts, piccolo, and flute, and the flute was only half finished, so it really shouldn't be too much to handle, suppose the solution is to save bloody regularly and hopefully they come out with a patch/update soon. Also hot take the audio isn't that impressive and is honestly trying to do too much, don't get me wrong some aspects of it are significantly better but others honestly seem worse.

Be more specific.
"some aspects of it are significantly better"

"but others honestly seem worse."
