Trill Staffs for realizations of ornaments

• Dec 22, 2022 - 03:56

Hi, I'm working on a version of Minuet in G (BWV Anh 114, you know the one) for my brother who is a beginner. I want to be able to leave the trills in the score with both the short trill and the mordent, but I also want to be able to have a clear note outline to show how to play such symbols. In some of the piano music I own there will be an added trill staff that is small and above the main staff to show how the ornament is played. I want to know if it is possible to implement this in future versions of musescore, like in the attached image.

In addition to this, because Minuet is a baroque piece the ornaments are played on the beat. In my current attempt at showing how to play the trill with grace notes, the small notes fall before the beat that the main note is on. Would it be possible to allow for grace notes to be centered on the beat as an option so as to more visually show that they are later? There may already be a solution to this that I am unaware of.

(Also thank you to everyone who made musescore 4.0 possible, it really is a breath of fresh air. And tantacrul if you are reading this love your accent and your vids!)

Unfortunately I don't speak English so describing all the steps I took to get what you are looking for becomes difficult for me; the only way is to attach 2 files: 1) Png. to show the final result and 2) .mscz file (MS4) so you can examine it and see what I did to get the result. Also try to listen to the audio (MS Play) and you will see that it will respect the measure Ossia.
I'm sorry but I can't do more than this, I hope it was a bit useful for you.
Good music
