Musescore 4.0 Single Note Dynamics?

Hello, I have been trying to compose a score using a clarinet and a viola (from Muse Sounds library) but cannot hear any difference when trying to apply a diminuendo onto a sustained note, which is very annoying as it's stopping me from creating the sensation of sound dying away that I want. This feature was in MuseScore 3 - has it been removed?

Also, if there's a way to achieve a <> hairpin style dynamic on a single note, where it decrescendos then crescendos again, I would love to know. Thanks!
