The MuseSound string sections seem to play longer sustained notes with an implicit creschendo/decreshendo, i.e. swell in the middle. For passages with only long notes this sounds fine, but for those with intermixed short and long notes, it makes playback sound a bit stilted, with an implicit "sub. p < mf" every time e.g. sixteenth notes give way to dotted quarters. See m. 9-15 in the attached score.

It happens everywhere. And the Musescore blog is full of complaints. It's ridiculous. Musehub Solo Violin is atrocious with swelling . Such a decent sound. Then try simply following a quarter note in middle C with a triplet arpeggio starting with A above middle C: the volume swelling is just awful. Composers are trying every workaround in the book. 4 has potential. And it's incredible for freeware. But it's much more than engraving software now, and these bugs are totally ridiculous. The Oboe sounds like hell. The Flute is in Purgatory. Interesting that the promo videos never play passages with figures where the problems are.
