1) Uncheck the Format->Style->Lyrics->Always force dash.
2) Set Format->Style->Text Styles->Lyrics odd lines->Font to Arial or Free Sans
3) Enter some lyrics in which shit hap-pens, and see that it gets squeezed.

The p's in "happens" will be squeezed too tight.

When using fx Free Sans 12pt for lyrics, this is quite disturbing, and I can find no workaround except to manually concatenate the adjacent syllables and place them at the first note - which leads to deep shit if I use multiple lyric lines.

I supply a Syllable squeezer as a minimal example, and a song of my own, "Dukkeleg", in which I manually concatenated the syllables, plus a copy of it in which I let Musescore do the concatenation, resulting in disturbing squeezes and gaps.

This isn't new to version 4.0, it also happened with 3.x.
It also happens with the Erwin font but seems a bit less disturbing with serifs.

This may not seem a big problem in English songs, but with languages that use more multi-syllable words, it is a dread.
