Crackling/Glitching in Audio Playback of Score

1) Open score file from older version of MuseScore (anything less than 4.0).
2) Attempt to playback audio.
3) Upon listening, there is often severe crackling in the audio (no matter the device) and the score sometimes glitches, sending the blue bar either forward or behind the actual notes that are being played.
