"Varied" Coda - What does it mean?

(Refer to the attached screenshot for my question.) - The top Coda I understand (the oval with the crosshair in the center). The bottom Coda, however, has me confused. It is a rectangle with a crosshair in the center and is defined in MuseScore as a "Varied" Coda. How does this Coda work differently from the top Coda and under what circumstances would I use it? I searched high and low on the Internet but can't see to find anything specific about it. Thanks.
