Effect of "Mute" within the text palette
Within the Text Palette in Musescore is the text "mute". What effect, if any, does the mute text have on playback. Can it be used to create a 'con sordino' effect for strings in playback, for example, or a muted trumpet sound?

Doesn't seem to have any effect in Muse Sounds. Sort of works in MuseBasic. Hopefully some one has a better answer.

Thanks!
I discovered this too, the 'mute' doesn't do anything. Some other settings are very subtle to hear, so I am looking up in the manual which 'textwords' effectively work but can't find any. To be clear: is there a list of functions for the text palette which ones will affect playback or not?
I would like to know the same thing. Mute doesn't seem to effect trumpets of trombone as it should.

In theory it should have been fixed by this issue:

If not, better report it on Github (you will need to create a free Github account if not already registered):
