Keyboard and Percussion

I am trying to write a percussion part in place of the bass clef of a marimba grand staff. When I switch the bass clef to a percussion clef, I am not allowed to notate using percussion notation. What I want to know is how to change notation for a singular stave to not be marimba any more. This way, I would have a marimba treble staff and percussion staff bracketed together and they could playback together. Screenshot attached is what I have currently.

The only other solution I can think of is creating a second drumset part under both treble clefs and then bracketing them together. If that is the solution, could anyone tell me how to merge two parts so that they do not read as two parts and instead share a title like "percussion 1" in the screenshot attached.

It's not totally on what you are doing here, but in general, changes between pitched and unpitched would be made at the instrument level, not the staff level. So either have two separate instruments (which can both be shown within a single part using the Instruments panel), or use instrument changes (form the Text palette or Add / Text menu).

If you continue to have trouble, please attach your actual score rather than just a picture, and give precise steps to reproduce the problem.
