adding instrument to set of instruments available
I play the guitar in several different tunings. It'd be nice to have them as saved instruments that could be easily added to the score. Is this possible?
Examples:
7 string guitar, Van Eps tuning (AEDGBA)
7 string guitar, "heavy metal" tuning (BEADGBA)
7 string guitar, ADADGAD
6 string guitar, DADGAD
6 string guitar, Open G, DGDBDG
Is possible?

It's not currently possible to add to the instrument list, although you could create a template (just a normal score saved to your Templates folder) with the instruments you like. Then start from that template and add other instruments later.

How would I create those instruments within a template? I apologise for being dense.

A template is just an ordinary score but saved to your Templates folder instead of your Scores folder. So create the instruments normally (eg, setting the name, range, and string data in Staff/Part properties) then save to your Templates folder.

Yes, it's located right next to your Scores folder, under Documents/MuseScore4. Then the next time you create a score, you'll see it listed in the "custom" section at the bottom of the templates list.
