No marching percussion sounds on playback in musescore 4

I recently switched to musescore 4 and downloaded all updated soundfont libraries etc.. started writing a marching percussion piece and there are no sounds - just metronome. I tried to go into the individual staves and reformat to "marching bass drum" etc,,, and only then it would make sounds by changing all of the noteheads and positions to a completely different sound file than marching bass drum.

When i go back and open musescore 3 and pull up a percussion arrangement, there is no playback issue.

a little frustrated - any ideas out there? (thank you in advance!)
