silencing cues in playback in big band drum parts

• Jun 28, 2023 - 15:20

I am using muse score 3 on a Windows system. In big band drum parts the cues are notated above the staff. Musescore does not allow for a round note above the staff in drum notation, which is a drag! But worse -- how do I silence the cues during playback? I have learned about the Toggle Slash Notation tab which does the trick in the 17 parts other than drums. See letter E in the score attached. My two questions:
1. How to use round notes on the space above the staff for cues (no drums have that )
2. How to silence those cues on playback (or in making a midi mp3 for rehearsal)
Thanks as always!! Frank Southecorvo

To silence notes, simply uncheck Play in the Inspector (Properties panel in MU4). But as noted elsewhere, no need for this if you enter the slash notation correctly in the first place - it's silenced automatically (and that also uses standard cue noteheads).
