mfp in musescore 3

I am transcribing a piece of music that requires mfp (mezzoforte piano), I'm still using the latest version of musescore 3 as musescore 4 currently does not have patch selection which I need for my work with soundfonts. However, even if I change the velocity and velocity change of fp, it doesn't appear to affect playback at all, as it still sounds the same as fp. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I think that the difference between mf and p is rather subtle, but you can get the effect you want in MS3.

See the example score with various settings of Velocity and Velocity Change.
