Playback and note input sound error

Hi all,

When I insert a note or use the playback function, there's a clicking sound, the note(s) skip, and the playback is hugely out of time. I've gone back to Musescore 3 because of this, but now there have been a couple of updates and the error is still present I was hoping it would have been resolved by now.

Anyone else having/had this problem? Please help,
