Ties automatically doubling on parts

Hello, I am having trouble with something in Musescore 4. When I tie notes on the score portion of my music, they look normal. Ex: whole note in one measure tied to whole note in another measure (see Picture 1).

When I put the music in parts though, some of the parts double the notes and leave the next measure blank (see Picture 2). I understand that this is something useful the program is trying to do, but I personally do not like this and prefer to see the full tied notes in both measures, exactly like what is in my score (Picture 1). What do I need to do to make this happen?
